I've really enjoyed the fundraising effort, and I made my original goal so I raised it. They won't give me any more beer, but the warm fuzzy feeling I get when I get a notification in my e-mail is pretty good, too. :) I've also enjoyed talking about the project with people who aren't in a position to give but like the organization and support our veterans in other ways.
What's been interesting with fundraising on the internet is I don't always know the internet handles that go with the real names of the people who contributed, so it's been hard to send personal thank yous on Twitter or at the HQ. I will thank you all by first name here until I leave on vacation Friday morning--which I believe is the end of keeping track of fundraising, but if you come across this later please consider a gift anyway, because it's really not for me, it's for our men and women who have served for us and could use our help now. Thank you!!
And my parents (I know their names. I'm just not sure they want to be blogged about.)
In other news, I am looking so forward to my vacation. I will have my laptop, but all the places I'm staying charge for internet, so except for stray tweet-by-text you all get a nine-day break from me. :)
